n. Illinois | every hog producer I did business with in 1998-99 was dealt the same ****ty hand and we had to restructured everyone's debt. The Feds came into and decided now was the time that they needed to purge some disease that was prevalent in hog herds and everyone decided it was time to sell out to the feds. Some tried to keep their hand in the game with feeding out feeder or SEW pigs with their existing facilities but none of them last 5 years before even that was gone. Always wonder if that wasn't the overall plan to begin with Crush the independt's financially then have Uncle Sam dangle a carrot in front with the buy out to wipe out the disease. | |
