I think Severson`s contention is bigger farms would have the clout to "handle" Cargill and ADM. at any rate if that was the case, no one reading would be invited to that party anyway. but all our suppliers are basically 3 choices, those we sell grain to are pretty much 3 companies. yet there are 150,000 producers of scale slaves to the suppliers, if you get mad at DeKalb you go to Channel...opps they have the same parent company you have to go to Syngenta . Same with grain companies .

what`s a longer term concern is when a guy retires and rents his land out, there will be significantly fewer than 150,000 farmers beating a path to rent your farm. the salad days of being a landlord one day are starting to come to a end. a 500,000 acre corporation might not be interested in a couple hundred acres here & there, they may only bother with sections.
