With all the drought talk what would be a good strategy to be long the corn market if this dry weather continues. I agree with others about the 2012 drought and it being so dry so early. And old enough to have farmed thru the 80's when high temps really wacked pollination. This is mostly a spec play.

You probably want to look to be a buyer in late May or mid June for a September option and be willing to roll to Dec. so’s not to get smoked on time premium.

Then be ready to buy puts on a stair step approach when you think it’s toppy and make it on a crash back down when we realize we aren’t going to run out…
