| Well I'm an I state guy BUT I'm in the southern part of Illinois so no black dirt here. And I've farmed through several droughts, 1980 = 15 bu corn, 83 = 15 bu corn, 84 = 40 bu corn, 88 =60 bu corn and 2012 = 5 bu corn and some tough years in between so I have experience with drought. This part of Illinois does not have the soil to have a 150 bu corn in a very dry year.
I have crop insurance but semi retired so no as many acres but I may want to participate with options and/or futures. | |
