Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | We always call being just at or below the insurance guarantees as being in no man’s land. Still pay the premium but don’t collect much. Out here with our basis, collecting on insurance always pays better to the tune of 40-50 cents on corn and 80 cents on wheat unless we have APH yields or higher. Absolute worst place to be is having to harvest a very poor crop that the bushels don’t cover the harvest expense. |
