Just a side thought.
You want to start harvest earlier. Your custom harvester does also to extend his season.
Set up a portable dryer and a small bin in the middle of one of your largest patches.
One could even setup 2 20,000 bushel stirator bins with a heater. Your area you might get by without heat if you are patient. Whatever diameter you want, but keep the corn under 18 ft. Then set up to bag out of the bin. You don't need to dry all your corn, just part of it.
If you combine guy can come and run every other day with one machine, at least he is running instead of waiting.
The way I look at it is take your trucking money from hauling to a central location and use it to pay the expense of taking the corn out of the bin and bagging.
