NorthCentral Illinois
On my third year of using VRT N recs based on the Haney soil test. Rec is based on my yield goal and what the Haney shows for the organic N in each zone in a field. Applied N rate can be as low as 80 lbs to high of 160. Low rate is on high production black soil and higher rates are on sand gravel low producing soils. Average VRT rate is slightly lower than my old standard rate and yield has improved on those fields.
