Subject: RE: New bin setup ROI

I used to sell quite a few baggers years ago, and also had a line of bins to sell. Had a pretty simple spreadsheet built comparing cost of bag vs bin.

At that time, just the property tax alone in our county on the bin was more per bushel than the cost of bagging, let alone shrink (no shrink in a bag, no loss of moisture). Add in the interest opportunity cost…

Stay with bags, ignore the naysayers. Bags take some work at harvest. Bins take trucks and drivers. I’ll wrestle a bag on a bagger any day vs fight a truck and driver.

Market the grain, hire cheap truckers, have two or three bag unloaders so they get loaded fast, they’ll be fighting to haul your grain.

Let alone the opportunity for source verified premiums, etc.
