Postville Iowa | Sometime this week there was chatter on here about a very large farmer retiring. In this conversation it was mentioned he didn’t own semis or a grain setup but did very well for himself. So different strokes for different folks.
Reasons I have a bin setup are a lot of reasons others have posted but going to add to the list. A nice bin setup was a goal of mine. I get more satisfaction looking at my bin site every day than I do looking at my statement of investments. Another reason is I don’t like working in the shop every day all winter so I personally haul a lot of corn December thru February to keep me busy and give me a little variety. Some people hate hauling corn but it doesn’t bother me.
Only you really know what you want or don’t want. I read somewhere you thought you could have this going for the 2026 crop. If you’re going to do it you better get started soon. I do like the idea of it being a site of its own. Remember life changes. | |
