Faunsdale, AL | You can check insulation integrity with a megohmeter instrument before you put one in service. Shouldn’t be a problem but the winding can usually be dried out/baked if the insulation value is low and bring it up to snuff.
Probably more of a concern on medium voltage motors than the low voltage stuff we deal with.
I’ll second the warning to positively exclude bugs, rodents and reptiles! Here it’s the mud daubers that get in everything but mice are the most destructive.
