Hennepin, IL | I'm on both sides of this, although I'm not typically around the farm during the day. I've got some guys that if I see them and need to kill some time, I'll swing in unannounced, but its pretty rare. Even then I'll fully expect for them to be in the middle of something and be there less than 5 mins if that's the case. Most of the time, I'll call day of or the day before and set up a time. After awhile you get a feel for who you can hit up on short notice and who it seems to work better to schedule ahead of time. That said, I can't read minds. So if a guy would rather me call a day or two in advance, that's fine, just need to know. There's really nothing rude about saying "Hey I've normally got plenty of irons in the fire when I'm here, but if you want to stop by, just give me (X amount) of heads up". | |
