Subject: Letting spare big electric motors sit around for years?

SE MN
We have three phase electric motors on our grain setup 5hp-50hp. I like to keep an eye on industrial auctions for sweet deals on industrial tools and equipment. Occasionally they will sell new old stock electric motors that bring pennies on the dollar compared to buying off the shelf. I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars and leaving them on the pallet racks for years, possibly never to be used, but I don't want to do that only to find when I need the motor it has a problem and is worthless.

The motors would be on pallet racks inside a shed with no climate control. They would get no sun or precipitation would would go through the full temperature swings of -20 to 105 including cool foggy days where everything has moisture sweating off it.

Will a new, unused three phase motor still work if it sits on the shelf for 5-10 years?
