Subject: Fertilizer placement in no till?

North Carolina
Being limited to broad cast in NT, my question is If you could drill down fertilizer on 18" centers 2 to 4 " deep in bands do you think you would take any yield hits? The reason for this we are in heavy clay HEL soil. At the price of fertilizer, I would like to make sure it stays in the ground and not wash in run off. Thanks Forgot to mention planting 15" beans and 30 " corn.
