Subject: RE: Can you hit 60' bins with augers?

I was thinking of starting with a pair of 60x12 bins and an auger.

I was imagining that a few years down the road would maybe install a leg and a pair of 200,000 bushel bins (60x21 or 72x16?). Leg would be close to the bigger bins. Trucks would drive between the big bins/leg and the original smaller bins. Over time that would allow for a little over 600,000 bushels of grain storage.

Not super excited about building a 5,500 bu/hour leg for something like that. Would prefer 10,0000 or so. Would also prefer a secondary leg within the leg structure to increase flexibility.

But maybe it is worth it for a smaller leg the first few years and then tear it down and build a bigger one later on?
