Been storing soybeans the last 2 seasons and taking beans out in the winter time as I am terrified of the pod issues in the bins come spring. Plug center sumps constantly. What can i do differently...
Is there a screener that will take the pods out when I fill the bin. Filling the bin with a 15inch 90ft conveyor.
Do bin spreaders work? I have been using 10k bushel bins.
I used a hopper bin but had 20 bushels of pods that stuck to the wall that I had to scrape off and go dump in the field.
I don't care how good you set your combine if you are taking 13% + beans off pods are a problem.
What tips and tricks are working. I know they sell a hydraulic sump buster but is there something better.
No taking 13%+ beans are not a problem to clean. You need to set your combine better, have a better combine or a better threshing setup. Run an S670 I run concave inserts to make more aggressive. Start cutting most of the time around 15.5% and 75% of our bean crop goes into bins and we have no pod issues ever.
