We had to go to the Quad Cities yesterday.  Traffic wasn't like Chicago but it was heavy.  Cars were in both lanes backed up for almost a block at traffic lights.  Target, Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Menards, all were filled with cars and trucks.

It occurred to me that these people all can't be working.  They can't all be on their day off or be shift workers taking this time to shop.  And seeing the shoppers it's difficult to believe their retired.

Why weren't you working?

A comprehensive reading of my post might conclude that there was no condemnation of anybody for not working.  A simple observation was made and a question.  As to the ad hominem reply, I'm 79, retired from a life time of working and was one of the trips not to a doctor but to refill the pantry.

I asked a simple question. What does age have to do with working or not? Maybe you need a job.
