E.Central MN | OR tie the govt bailout handout money to a reduction in planted acres like they did in the old days. It wasn't pretty, a lot of farmers were able to game that system then, too, but it got at the root cause of low prices by reducing US grain over-production. As long as the govt insists on throwing money at farmers anyway, they might just as well get something of a transactional nature in return (other than a future vote for the GOP). | |
