Nebraska aka the boondocks | There has always been “aid,” and there will always be “aid!” There has always been govt meddling in the ag markets, trade deals, embargoes, tariffs etc etc, and it will always be so. There has always been those that have a seat at the table, then the rest of us and this will always be. The statisticians, economists, actuaries,lobbyists, etal, already know what we will do on average…. That’s just the way it is. Inversely, what do farmers have that the rest don’t, all the land, water, etc etc. govt policy can’t be that farmers just do what they want, on their land without “oversite,” because at some point, “public policy” will dictate that land will be needed.
