I think that was its intent when the slogan was launched but by saying "The Other White Meat" it inevitably was compared to chicken and is usually (should always be) more expensive than chicken.
Because of that slogan, there are still people that have it ingrained in their head that Pork is white meat. Pork is red meat. If you cook it until it is thoroughly "white", you've cooked all of the juice and flavor out of it.
