Comparing back 20 years these new genetics really do take more stress. 2002 and 2012 were wipeouts for us. 2022 was tough but the corn just kept hanging around and made a little. Not sure it would have from genetics 20 years earlier.
This year we were on the edge a few times but we got some rain and the corn recovered. And actually yielded quite well. Seems it can take some stress and recover unlike in the past.
