Not saying your points are wrong, but is CRP and crop insurance pushing rental rates up artifically puttinmg more stress on small farms? I have for years said no one wants to talk about the elephant in the room in the saga of the small dairy farm and that was then high cost of health insurance. In many cases that forced one spouse to get a job for the benefits (health insurance) so that left the other one alone tending to the farm, just too many times that another body makes things go so much quicker and smoother. The one man show/circus gets old after awhile and the cows leave.
