Driftless SW Wisconsin

We love our 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV. Cost new was under $30k (with no rebate) in late 2022. The best designed vehicle I have ever driven, it evolved over 7 years on the market, then they killed it! Not for cross country driving but we use for about 80% of our driving. Buy much less gas than previously. Charge it at home over night when the grid has excess capacity. Most families have more than one vehicle anyway. I believe in the near future one of those vehicles will be a Bolt or other EV.

We use our gas SUV when we need to pull a trailer, need more capacity or for longer trips, as to the Boundary Waters, until the charging infrastructure catches up.

Drove a Ford Mustang EV for a few days this year and ranks as one of the worst designed cars I have ever driven. No wonder Ford lost a lot of money. Shows signs of what I've seen in big company engineering departments.

GM is coming out with a new version of the Bolt this year and unless they really screwed up the well designed 2023 version, I expect at $30k they will sell all they can build.

One reason EV sales are "down" the last year or two is that there just are few decent models for sale in the US at reasonable prices. Hyundai dealers don't seem to have many EVs on their lots.

As for Teslas, I don't like their center screen controls and I'm not interested in purchasing anything in any way connected with Elon Musk. He and Bezos don't need my business.
