How many miles? Sounds like mine. I let the dealership do the repair as at harvest I didn’t have time. Torque converter clutch was slipping. Put a reman trans in since the rest of the pickup appeared to have plenty of life left. 200k miles. Buddy with the same drivetrain had to do a trans at 200k too.

Did you get by for 5 grand or was it more?

It was 3 years ago. If I remember correctly it was $7k or so, $1,200 for labor. No way I was going to swap it in my shop with no lift during harvest for that labor bill. Money well spent.
