West central IL | I suppose I disagree. I farm and am partial owner of land my family got in the 1840’s. It’s special to me. I also take my family to their graves and set flowers on Memorial Day, and wonder what things they may have experienced. It’s more of a legacy than most people born in the early 1800’s have. Graves and names long forgotten. That’s part of what makes the land a different investment, and what makes it hard for many of us to make the “smart” financial decision and sell out, moving on to more lucrative things… | |
