nc ks | Live on much less my butt. I never saw any suv's running to every kid's ball game year around in the 80's. The amount spent on kids today compared to back then is enormous, but it's normal so no one notices it. Nothing wrong with all the spending if you can afford it, but everyone thinks they can afford it and then complain when they aren't getting ahead. My contemporaries in town lived a much better life. I don't think you can tell a difference today other than the farmer works more hours probably. I remember being at a friends house in town that had put in all new carpet. It blew my mind. I was getting the free carpet squares and taping them together for a rug here and there. I had a in floor heater and one airconditioner that I only ran when I was sitting in front of it. We ran our machinery from the 60's and 70's the way they were if it would still move. I could go on, but the standard of living is so much higher now even if you are struggling that it isn't even funny. Many, many farmers didn't make it and you are comparing the ones struggling today against the ones that made it. Compare the struggling to the ones that didn't make it back then if you want to compare things.
