WCMO-SWMO Area | Not a single one of my 6 neighbors that left in the 1980's was farming with their Dad...All were in their 40's and 50's and were on their own....All have now passed except for one of them..
One neighbor got a large write down and still farms today..Another neighbor just about got sold out and after many years paid back every penny that he owed..A friend 15 miles away was drug down by his son...He was very bitter and moved away.
Things are better today than they were in the 1980's simply because of subsidies,crop insurance, and cheaper interest rates..
