I get told I put filters on to tight… I go beyond what the recommendations are but only with my hands… your asking for trouble to put a filter wrench on and reef on it some more. Every filter I take off I need a wrench.. so they are tight

Lube your filter gasket up… I’ve even had a mechanic recommend that white lithium grease instead of oil to line it.

Volvo loaders you can tighten to filter specs and struggle to get off.

One of the tractors I changed hydraulic filters for the first time in ownership and she blew it off in a matter of hours. I run the filter to tight and then try to get another half rotation with my hands. I asked the dealer why and they said someone over tightened it at one point..

I have only ever had one filter fail and that was due to a bad seal… I’m with you in I don’t ever want to have a filter leak but there is such thing as over tightening a filter..
