Scranton | And an actual good job of level plowing and filling in the few dead furrows in a field (2 per 80 for us) and we really have zero problems with them. Have to be sure not to start the same spot every year. If we ever see a bit of a dip from the past, we start our new land there, filling it in. And we don't let just anybody plow. Mostly my son or myself only.
We plow some of our organic every year. I have a love/hate relationship with plowing. I enjoy it until I think about how much easier it is to disk rip the same ground. But plowing does absolutely clean up the weed problems. Until you plow up a 40 year old fence line and get a billion button weeds and cockleburrs growing. | |
