I stand by what I said.  I've changed a $h1T load of filters too and I maybe have seen two loose in my lifetime.  And one of those times was on a 4 wheeler which wasn't mine and the gasket from the old filter was still on the base.  Using a wrench would not have helped in that case.  Maybe try this.  Grab and turn the filter with BOTH hands.  Sounds like you need to get better help because after I change filters I at least run whatever it is for a few minutes to make sure nothing leaks.  



You must not have read my other post to I just got this tractor this fall and it came from the dealership with new filters on it. Put 185 hrs on it. Moral of the story is filter wasn’t tight enough for it being 10 below out. Things shrink. “Hand tight “ wasn’t good enough in this case. Had a wrench been put on it we wouldn’t be debating who’s right or not. I stand by my statement. Put a wrench on it.
