Too bad we’re not a few more years down the road. My youngest 2 are the polar opposite, they run machinery and enjoy it, but the cattle side is what they really love to do. Unfortunately growth around here is kinda limited.

My 14yo has been getting up every 2 hours for the last 2 nights, because one of “his” cows is getting close to calving. He picked her out Friday evening feeding, and brought her 3/4 mile back to the barn to keep an eye on her with the bitter cold.

2 things though, a lot can change between 14, 20, and 30, and a lot of the good ones get snapped up and kept happy by older guys when they’re fairly young.
