NW Ohio, near Findlay | Watching this post, I get so confused on engine oils in different motors. All during the 70's, I used one oil for everything, good old 15-40, got it in 55 gal drums. At that time just had simple small block Chevys and some Ford small blocks. Have Deere 4020, 3020, run this oil in all motors. Then got a Honda in 95 with a 4 cylinder, drove it over 200,000 miles until frame and brake lines rusted out.
Now I have a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country, bought new and use 10-30W, I guess a blended oil, really don't care what brand, has 225,000 miles on it.
What would hurt to run good old Diesel 15-40W in cars. My Honda run all those years and no trouble. With all these newer motor, they only want the 5-20W oil or some even want 0-20W, and they are have engine failures.
