Use a wrench or not, I don't care. I change a few thousand filters a year. I might find 1 a year that is loose enough to leak just enough to be wet. I find 1 every month or so that some *%&#$@! tightened up to tight. I have to cut the can off with an air chisel to get to the nut then hammer it off. Even then sometimes I have to cut the gasket surface away from the nut. Ive also broken off several threaded nipples as well. When the can spins and spins but it doesn't loosen, it's time for the air chisel. I'd like to string up who ever put these on by their nutsack and leave them hanging.
