You can see on google earth, the head of the slide starts moving in 2019. We had a pretty big snow and rain event that winter.
All this area is heaved up seafloor sediment, the yellow subsoil you can see in the picture. Grows trees great but moves at the slightest disturbance. Mostly it sits on clay stone/mudstone that is impervious to water.
