| Quite a few judgmental people on this site about weight going on without knowing the full story. I was just like DB Tracks. I was born premature wasn't supposed to even live. But grew up in to a big damn kid. Very active riding bikes, swim team, football and wrestling. Then in winters I snow skiing every free minute I got on weekends. Wrestled heavyweight and front linesman, cowboying as well on ranch.
Just like DB I could easily do 1,000 small square bales a day as a teenager. But in that time frame we went to big bales. I finally got rid of little balers in 1992' it was too much to do alone. Sold self propelled wagon and two balers and went rounds. Now today its ton bales.
But finally 20 years ago injuries and stress and work load caught up with me. Just like DB I went to pushing 400lbs. But I'll guarantee you I could run a shovel and work as hard as a lot of 100 lb. people. I will agree soda pop didn't help, I agree its diet pushes you over the edge. We always tried to eat healthy, but when you wear your knees out weight goes on.
I was always able to keep A1C numbers good until Covid. Covid about got me. Even my cholesterol levels docs told me most people would kill for. Yeah I tried diets, wasn't working. So doc finally said let's try the GLP-1 drugs, well in a close to a 1 1/2 years I've lost 80 pounds, still working on it.
So for everyone thinking they know the story you don't. You take women that work hard all their life's raising a family, putting everyone before themselves, plus the changes in life with hormones, and bang the weight goes on. Yet you want to run them down? Stress is a big killer in your lives, then weight gains comes with it.
So I hope everyone that is struggling with weight issues see your doctor. If your in your 50-60's maybe GLP-1 can help you get started in the right direction. Bottom line until you walk a mile in the person's shoes, you might refain from taking judgment.
If in your 60's and GLP-1 can help so be it. You've already lived 2/3's of your life. Your going to die from something anyway. Plus I'm paying for the drug, neighbors not paying for mine. Side note just all of you healthy people invested in drug companies, just think how much your making off us "fat people".
But I'll bet most all you I can still out work most young people running a goon spoon shovel all day being fat. | |
