I’m sorry if I came off harsh, Dan.

I was the little fat kid in grade school. Back when pants sizes were slim, regular and husky. I remember pants that would fit my waist, were way to long for my short little legs.

Low point was a gym class my freshman year. It was called tumbling activities. Something along the lines of gymnastics but I couldn’t do them, at least properly and gym teacher was more than happy to say that to the class.

So I got into working out every night at home even after sports practices or games. Would work out at midnight if needed. Always had to watch what I ate. That’s not to say I haven’t gained weight at times and told myself “ I’ve got to turn this around”.

Covid came and my wife was a big inspiration to say “ let’s try to be as healthy as we can be, to help fight any health issues “. We both got back to our HS weights, limit sugar and carbs. Probably could do better on alcohol, we usually eat out once a week at night and Sunday morning breakfast with spotted cow.

About a year ago I ran into an acquaintance that hadn’t seen me for a few years. He commented that I looked skinny. That word will never register in my mind. I’m still the fat kid in husky pants. I’ll admit it’s vain….but it does feel good to get compliments.

I suppose I have been too judgmental, just because of my own struggles. Congratulations on your weight loss. It is a daily battle.
