Flush it completely and use whatever you use in everything else. Having to keep multiple types of coolant is a pain and sooner or later it will get mixed wrong
Absolutely DO NOT do this unless you are running some type of extended life, or precharged type of coolant. Too many guys still haven't got with the times and are still running regular old green coolant.
This coolant mess that the manufacturers have created is a terrible pain in the ass. It would be nice if they could all just settle on one type and be done. We have had the best luck with SCA precharged-type coolant. I have yet to have an engine run out of additive in 1000 hours, filter or no filter. We flush and change coolant every 1000 hours. I currently have a couple of machines with Komatsu Super coolant, which is supposed to be "universal", but I keep a case of it on hand until it's time to change. |
