Subject: RE: Tire carrying capacity at various psi

Texas
We had to go to tire school at JB Hunt ( cant make this up )

I forgot the exact temp range tires drop , might been 8 degrees was 1 psi .

I also might be off on this , tires were at least #2 or 3 on company cost .

They were very serious about having tires checked by a calibrated gage ( we all checked them tire gage tuesday it was called .

We checked EVERY tire on all things that came in shop .

I do recall underimflation was the major cause of failure .

Bad part is a blown tire is going to sure wreck things around it .

Despite our efforts we still blew alot of tires .

We did have 600 trucks though .

This could be some food for thought - we had off site trucks and trailers , probally not checked .

I assume this is a grain trailer loaded to 80k

Just me , id keep them at max pressure .
