I usually have a number in mind that I’m willing to spend. It’s take or leave it from there. If it’s over that number I feel I can justify for a vehicle, I look for another one.
I have one dealer I do the majority of our purchases with. I just tell him to do the best he can. He usually takes 10% off list price. We don’t haggle much. I’m glad he’s here and he needs to stay in business too.
Yeah, I have developed a relationship with Greene GMC out of the quad cities. 15 of the last dozen vehicles we’ve purchased have been from one of their 2 locations. I really like my salesman and will miss him when he retires, developed some serious health problems in the past year but he still looks and acts great for 80 years old. He trades me now sight unseen. Doesn’t need run numbers past a manager. They trust him to do his own deals. That’s what over 40 years in the business gets you. His numbers are always fair, and I’ve never asked him for less, cuz I know they weren’t trying to screw me in the first place. Finding his replacement wont be easy, but it will still be one of the best Greene has on staff.

Thats an interesting ratio........lol
Pretty much sums up where we get our vehicles…..

Basically: "On a scale of 1 to 10, my salesman is a 12."
