Iowa - Floyd County | I’d agree with that assessment. That was handled very well. My guess is that’s a fairly new structure and building codes likely require a substantial fire barrier between house and garage. I didn’t see any smoke pushing from the eaves of the house and I would say the garage had minimal structural members involved in fire. It looked like the siding was a non combustible cement/fiber board of some sort and that helped prevent spread as well. Getting that vehicle out of the garage was a great move, obviously their standard operations for that type of fire. House will likely need cleaning but I’m sure it salvageable. | |
