The problem of taking away that safety net is while yes you will hurt those older guys, they are also often the ones that have enough cash reserves that they could weather the storm longer than someone in who is in late 30's to 40's with a family to support. As someone in that age group I really want to believe that cutting those programs would be an opportunity for me, but I am highly skeptical that I could survive long enough to outlast the older generation's cash reserves.
You need an influx of cash outside of government welfare. |
