I had the one where they make the slit in the palm of hand just past the wrist. In my right hand and right handed. Whatever they did for pain control in that hand it took several days for that to wear off. With it not hurting I caught myself doing things with it I shouldn't have. I went back to doing thing after the surgery just trying to watch how I used that hand and keeping it clean. I will say would be best not to and give it some time to heal. If that pain block doesn't wear off for several days you just don't know.
It really helped my hand that had got where it would go numb. It took a good while before I could stand pressure around that incision area. Like getting up out of the floor you will learn to make a fist. I helped that numbness immediately though and should have had it done sooner than I did.
