NC KS | Anybody ever changed the lift system on their Westfield auger? One of my cylinders is leaking oil badly and can see the auger going down after raising it up. The way it is puking oil out of the breather, it won't be able to lift at all much longer. I took it back down.
I assume there is rust on the air side of the cylinder that destroyed the orings. I have other augers that lift with hydraulic drive winches and one that lifts with 2 one way cylinders that could suffer the same fate (probably has already).
I could put seal kits in the existing cylinders assuming that the barrels could be buffed enough to smooth them up but probably have to do it all over again at shorter and shorter intervals or put new barrels on. | |
