Southwestern IL St. Clair Co.
Went down there after lunch. Said they retested on phone, with similar results. when showing up and requesting they send sample for federal or state grading the tune changed. Finally admitted they didn't have sample! Manager showed up and was very nice and problem went away. took a sample from bin along and they did test. got 14.2% moisture. Didn't even test damage, they said it was well less then 1% damage. My guess is it was a computer issue or data entry error. I'd think a grader would know those numbers were not anywhere close if they looked at sample at all or in truck while probing. If sample was that bad why did they dump? Manager even made that comment.
They did look at video before we went there, because they knew the color of truck and told us that over phone. could have looked at that and saw grain and seen it wasn't 50% damaged but didn't need to get that far.
Did call federal grain inspection place on way there and got some advice from them. I didn't realize we had one less then 5 miles from elevator just SE of St. Louis.
Thanks for replies, as always AgTalk is a great resource thanks to you folks!
