NWMO | Coulters make good rock protection is about it.... Years back we ran a Kinze 3600 16/31 No colters and The CaseIh style tires on guage wheels... Kept new vee's on it and it penetrated about as good as one could get... Also closed trench very well as tires kept sidewall looser... Back when everything was spring adjust... That planter did well will medium to low settings on springs in No-Till... But rocks would break a unit now and then... Skinny plow coulters solved that but required another notch in down pressure... Sometimes simpler works very well... No everying is auto down force, air row cleaners and spike closers here... OH the good old days of the K.I.S.S method.... | |
