Michigan | I'm working on putting together a chemical plan for 2026 soys. Problem weeds are ALS/glyphosate resistant marestail, lambsquarter, and waterhemp. I'm planting E3 traited beans. Ph of the soil averages 7.5. Ground was hit with a VT disk this fall but no more tillage is planned.
I'm purposely staying away from using sulfentrazone (Sonic/Authority products) as we tend to have cool, wet springs and I've had a lot of issues with ppo's and poor bean emergence and early vigor. I'm really hoping to get good control with two passes, or at least that's the plan to start with. Also trying to keep costs down.
Here's what I'm thinking about doing--would welcome any comments or suggestions.
Pre-plant/burndown: 1 qt Glyphosate 5 oz Metribuzin 4 oz Anthem Maxx will add 1 pt of 2,4-d if needed depending on early scouting NIS and AMS per label recommendations
Postemerge (mid-late June) 42 oz generic Liberty 1 pt generic Dual will add 12 oz Clethodim if needed depending on grass/volunteer corn pressure NIS and 3# of AMS
If things go wrong, I'll be able to make a third pass with Enlist as a rescue, but I feel it's too expensive to use in my base program. Open for any ideas to either cut costs or otherwise improve on this plan. |
