scmn | $50k heifer and showing expenses looks cheap compared to traveling basketball/baseball/volleyball/hockey/etc
FWIW he is right about no one cares when it is car, motorcycle, hunting gear, fishing boat, pulling tractor, etc. But when it comes to teaching kids about hard work and responsibility it is a big issue even though the sport of show stock is comparable it cost to other sports. In the end, what is the point of making money if you can't spend it?
In my experiences with hundreds of show families and kids, as a general observation the kids showing livestock are far more respectful and polite than kids that only play traditional sports. | |
