West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | A good, low cost, broad spectrum weed control program that used to really work good on grass and small seeded broadleaf weeds was a preplant incorporated application of Prowl or Treflan followed by a post emerge application of Lasso either banded with the planter or broadcast applied. Rain was needed to activate the Lasso before any weeds emerged.
Spot spraying for broadleaf escapes and Canadian thistle patches with Basagran and/or Dynap, row crop cultivating at least twice, walking the fields with a hoe in hand, and in later years running a bean bar over every acre was all part of the weed control program as well.
FWIW, Prowl H2O eliminates almost all of yellow staining issues. |
