Western Ontario | Hundreds of thousands of calves used to come from Saskatchewan and Alberta to Ontario by rail up until about 1982, then they all started coming by truck. I used to go with Dad and the trucker in a setup that looked exactly like this (around ‘78) to the rail siding about 2 hours away to meet the train, straight Hereford steers 80 to a car, those were peak BJ and the Bear days and for a 10 year old kid I don’t think you could have knocked the smile off my face with a 2x4.
