Subject: Swine manure app setup

Central Iowa
Taking another look at our manure setup for next year after a couple custom boom truck haulers didn't get to us for the 2nd year in a row before ground froze. We've still got a # of custom guys trying to run still in our area but with the snow on top of the unfrozen ground to say its a mess is an understatement.

Pump 3-4M gallons of swine finisher manure. Might have one more barn in future so could go to 4.5M +/- . To get best crop results, i want to apply it when ground is below 50 degrees and also leave enough time to get ground worked if corn on corn. It can be a pretty short window if weather turns south at the wrong times(call it Oct 15 to Nov 15) We had two rain events this fall in late Oct to early Nov and it seemed like the sun never came out so lost a number of days to apply.

Been running a one 8360r and 7300 Houle for the past 4 years and most farms are very close. At 3M gallons close by its doable but still takes a while. Looking to travel a bit further to spread manure around to other fields. 3 miles +/- (fields close by are well fertilized after many years of manure). I have looked at boom trucks but currently don't have wet kits on the semis we have for grain farm. Would take a big investment and not sure its worth putting wet kits on the older semis i have.

Leaning toward another Houle 7300 (pairs well with existing tractor) as we're familiar with them and seem to work for what we want to do. Close by can get 3 trips per hour so close to 40k an hour - 12 hour day just shy of 500k. 3 mile trip takes about 25 minutes fill to fill so 12 hour day with 2 machines can get close to 350k/day with 2 machines.

Looking for any suggestions on how to set it up. Would like to just have it custom hauled but seems like fewer and fewer custom guys running and the ones that do get overextended.
