Subject: RE: Scours vaccine question

NE Iowa
Our farm has used scour vaccines every year for over 40 years. The labels that I know of all say the first year you need 2 doses and only one the following years. I am just guessing, but you probably get 90% of the immunity from the first dose. So if you can't do two doses one is still way better then none. I try to do my first calf heifers twice but don't always get around to it. If you use Scourbos 9 the label says the booster only needs to be Scourbos 4 which is a little cheaper. Scour vaccines have about doubled in price in the last 10 years. Scourbos 9 is the one I have used for probably the last 10+ years and is about the cheapest.
